The Franklin Township Board of Education continues its before and after school child care program (C.A.R.E.) in all K-4 elementary schools and after school only for the 5 & 6 graders at Sampson G. Smith Intermediate School.

The C.A.R.E. Program has experienced positive growth and success during the past years.  Although this is a program for enrichment and social interaction, we do reinforce concepts learned in school and provide homework time.  This balance of play, relaxation, games, arts and crafts and learning provides a memorable experience for participants.

Our C.A.R.E. staff is highly experienced, some having worked for years with C.A.R.E.  Among our staff are NJ certified teachers, specialists in instructional areas and paraprofessionals.  Special events and class trips are often offered during parent-teacher conference week.  If you do not want your child to attend the trips, your child must be absent from C.A.R.E. that day.  All C.A.R.E. staff attend the C.A.R.E. trips.

We offer your child a nutritious, enjoyable snack before and after school each day.  The snacks are provided through the district cafeteria service.

Parents are responsible for transporting their children to A.M. C.A.R.E. and must personally sign their children IN with the Site Manager.  Parents must pick up their children from P.M. C.A.R.E. and must personally sign their children OUT with the Site Manager by 6:00 p.m. or incur late pick-up fees.
