The annual Peace Day Program at Conerly Road School in Franklin Township will be held on Saturday March 27th from 9 am to 3 pm.  This is an entire day dedicated to fostering peace in our elders, our schools, our communities and us.

 

The special guests and lecturers for this day include:

 

1.                                     Gil Silverbird, an Apache from Albuquerque, New Mexico who dedicates his life to fostering peace through music, storytelling and Native American sacred rituals.  He was the musical director, composer and featured artist with the Cherokee Nation Children’s Choir.

2.                                     Naomi Drew, known as the “mother of the peacemaking movement”, renowned lecturer, author, and education will be conducting a parenting workshop on the topic of anger management for parents and creating a peaceful home for our children.

3.                                     Jo Ann Quattrone, Holistic D.D.S., an expert on “Alternative and Complimentary Health Care” will help children understand the connection between the body, mind and spirit.  Dr. Quattrone has volunteered and traveled to the Amazon Jungle of Brazil and helped the native people with her knowledge and services.

4.                                     Phyllis Rose, and her dance company, will close Peace Day with a multi-cultural and movement workshop – “Dances From Around the World” to help parents and children bond in a joyful activity.
