According to preliminary data issued by the New Jersey Department of Education, Franklin Township Schools showed improvement in the standardized test scores for 4th grade since last year.  While Elizabeth Avenue Elementary School made 38 out of the 40 indicators, both Franklin Park School and Hillcrest School scored 39 out of 40, in the 2002-2003 school year.

Conerly Road School scored the highest, making 40 out of the 40 indicators required by this law.  This includes not only total population, but student subgroups as well.  The scores are indicated by standards set in the No Child Left Behind Law

“We are very pleased with the total population scores for our 4th grade” says Charlotte Weisner, Assistant Superintendent of Franklin Township Schools.  “We have made improvements in both curriculum and staff development, and it is reflected in the increase of the test scores since last year.”
