Pleased with Preliminary Test Scores for 4th Graders, 2002-2003.

Child Left Behind Law
According
to preliminary data issued by the New Jersey Department of Education, Franklin
Township Schools showed improvement in the standardized test scores for 4th
grade since last year. While Elizabeth
Avenue Elementary School made 38 out of the 40 indicators, both Franklin Park
School and Hillcrest School scored 39 out of 40, in the 2002-2003 school year.
Conerly
Road School scored the highest, making 40 out of the 40 indicators required by
this law. This includes not only total
population, but student subgroups as well.
The scores are indicated by standards set in the No Child Left Behind
Law
“We
are very pleased with the total population scores for our 4th grade”
says Charlotte Weisner, Assistant Superintendent of Franklin Township
Schools. “We have made improvements in
both curriculum and staff development, and it is reflected in the increase of
the test scores since last year.”
