Principal’s Message

Welcome to MacAfee Road School for the 2008/2009 school year. MacAfee Road School is a public elementary school in Franklin Township (Somerset County) New Jersey. The education provided at MacAfee Road School is designed to meet the needs of each student based on the New Jersey State Core Curriculum Content Standards in each area of learning. The school serves children in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, grade one, grade two, grade three and grade four.

Along with addressing the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, MacAfee Road School offers a G & T program that formally begins in second grade but also includes students in kindergarten and grade one on a group basis. Other activities during the school year include the Readers Are Leaders Program, Young Authors, Family Mathematics, Junior Achievement Program and Rise and Shine Before School Tutorial Program. Our on-going Character Education Program gives children the opportunity to learn how to make good choices for a productive, successful life.

MacAfee Road School Parent Teacher Organization provides valued support throughout the school. We encourage parent/guardians to become active participants in their children’s education and invite them to be a part of the MacAfee community.

The children who attend our school come from many different ethnic backgrounds. This diversity is a great strength and provides many unique educational opportunities for students. The MacAfee Road School Mission Statement is “MacAfee Road School, a place of excellence, where children can achieve full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical and character development.” Each staff member is committed to supporting this mission statement and to give his/her very best to each individual student.
