On behalf of the Franklin Township Reopen/Restart Committee, Superintendent Ravally submitted a request to the Somerset Executive County Superintendent of Schools on August 19, 2020, requesting approval to delay our opening of in-person instruction this fall. A letter from Dr. Ravally to the school community is posted on our website. Finally, for those families who wish to take advantage of the Fully Remote Program Option, even after we return to in-person instruction, you may still sign up. Each school's website has a new form posted on the main page.

On June 26, 2020 the NJ Department of Education (NJ DOE) released guidance on the reopening of schools in September. This guidance is called the The Road Back - Restart and Recovery Plan for Education.
Stakeholders in our district met as a Restart Steering Committtee and created the District's Restart and Recovery Plan to Reopen Schools which was approved by the Board of Education at its meeting on July 23, 2020, with supplemental material added on July 27, 2020. The Plan is being updated in accordance with NJDOE guidance. The Plan was submitted to the Executive County Superintendent as well.
The Plan is over 80 pages long and includes appendixes and references. However, we have included a summary presentation which highlights key areas of the Plan as well.
On August 4, 2020, Superintendent Ravally hosted a telecommunication Town Hall meeting and answered questions in a variety of areas surrounding the Plan. These questions had been submitted via a form and to the firstname.lastname@example.org email.
Our Frequently Asked Question page has been updated with the responses from the Town Hall meeting questions and will continue to be updated as more questions/answers are finalized.
Additionally, a Town Hall Meeting was held on August 18, 2020 for the families of students with special needs. Here is the FAQ document from that meeting.
Meanwhile, if you have a general comment or question about the reopening of our school buildings or the 2020-2021 school year, please email email@example.com
