    Online registration remains open for the 2022-2023 school year for new and transfer students – Grades K -12 

    ***Please read all instructions completely prior to beginning the online registration process.***

    *As registrations are processed, you will receive a preliminary welcome email from the Genesis Parent Portal. Please check your SPAM/JUNK folders and mark us as safe senders.  Additional school information will be communicated via email.     Unless you are notified specifically, no further action is required on your part.* 

    District Requirements for Entry Into PK and Kindergarten

    PK3 - Full day program. Must be 3 years old on or before October 31, 2022 (If your child is enrolled in any of our PK3 programs, you do not need to re-register them into PK4, their enrollment will be continuous) 

    PK4 - Full day program. Must be 4 years old on or before October 31, 2022(If your child is enrolled in any of our PK4 programs, you do not need to re-register them into Kindergarten, their enrollment will be continuous)

    Kindergarten - Full day program.  Must be 5 years old on or before October 31, 2022

    Please Note: FTPS will be partnering with Head Start for the 2022-2023 school year for PK3 and PK4 and you will be notified if your child is eligible to attend that program.  

    Required Registration Documents

    ·Copy of original Birth Certificate and/or passport of your child(ren)

    ·Copy of Most Recent Immunization Records (PK Requirements and K-12 Requirements), Medical Record Form (To Be Completed By Physician), Dental Records (To Be Completed By Dentist) and Health History Forms (To Be Completed By Parent/Guardian)
    ·Please note for all students new to the district, physical and dental exams MUST have occurred after 9/7/2021. If your child's exams occurred before that date, you will be required to supply the updated signed physical and dental documentation prior to entry into school. (All health forms received during summer months can be emailed to registration@franklinboe.org (please place the student's name in the subject line) or placed in the "Student Enrollment" black lock box located At 2301 Rte 27, Somerset, NJ 08873 - Bldg. 1. They will be delivered to the appropriate school nurse for each child.) (If your family doesn't have a physician, please reach out to Zufall Health for assistance at 908-526-9040.)

    ·Both Parent/Guardian (1&2) Current Government Issued ID/Driver’s License/Passport

    ·Copy of Previous School Records: a. For all students: copy of transfer card, report card, test scores, and previous school phone number, mail and email addresses

    ·For Special Education students: a current copy of the student's IEP and/ or 504

    ·Copy of Custody Documents (if applicable)

    ·If your child is attending a charter school, you will need to provide a copy of the Charter School Acceptance Letter

    Proof of Residency

    One (1) primary
    -Deed, Property Tax, Mortgage Statement, or Lease in at least one (1) of the parent or guardians names.(If the parent or guardians name IS NOT on the Deed, Property Tax, Mortgage Statement, or Lease then you must complete the Residency Affidavit Form which is available in the registration portal for download at the end of Question 1.)  

    The Online Registration Process

    Step 1:
    To prepare for the online process and ensure that the process can be completed successfully, please have the items below scanned and ready to be uploaded when you start the
    process on the registration portal. (For your convenience, here is where you can find scanning instructions.

    Step 2:
    Once you have all the information and digital copies of the required documents on hand, use the “register here” link to start the online registration process.     Please ensure that you choose the correct school year in the “Registering for School Year” drop down box. (If your child is starting school in September, you should choose 2022-2023 in the drop down)

    ADDITIONAL HELPFUL INFORMATION

    -If you don’t receive a confirmation email with a barcode, you have not answered all questions completely.

    -Once registration is completed, you will receive a welcome email from the Genesis Parent Portal. Proceed with creating your account.
     
    -Please do not panic. You will not be able to view or access your new student in the Genesis Parent Portal until after the system rolls over, which will occur over the summer @ July 15, 2022. Once you are able to view your students, there may be additional required forms to complete within the Genesis Parent Portal to have full access to your student.
