• Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Genesis
    Student Information System
     
    Question:  How do I get a Genesis account for my child?

    Answer:  You will need to submit a Genesis Registration Form to open an account.  Follow these directions:

    ·         Go to the district website:  www.franklinboe.org

    ·         On top of the page from the drop down menu “Select a School”, select your child’s school

    ·         Click on the "Parents" tab on top of the page

    ·          Under “G”, select "Genesis Registration Form"

    ·         Fill out the form (print clearly) and send to the Main Office of your child's school

    ·         You will be notified by email of your log in and temporary password information. 
                 
    PARENTS PLEASE NOTE:  After you have submitted the Genesis Registration form, please be sure to check your email "Spam" or "Trash" to ensure you receive notification from the school with your account information.
     

     Question :  Only one of my children is on my account, how do I add my other child(ren)?

    Answer:  You can include all your children’s names when you initially complete the Genesis Registration Form.  However, if they do not show up on your account, you can submit a Genesis Account Revision Form and indicate on the form that you already have an account and you would like to add your other children’s names.  Submit the updated form to the school that your child attends on your current Genesis account.

     

    Question:  How do I change my contact information on my Genesis account?

    Answer:  To change your email address, phone number, mailing address, etc., follow these steps:

    ·       Go to the district website:  www.franklinboe.org

    ·       On top of the page from the drop down menu “Select a School”, select your child’s school

    ·        Click on the "Parents" tab on top of the page 

    ·        Under “G”, select "Genesis Account Revision Form"

    ·        Fill out the form (print clearly) and send to the Main Office of your child's school

     

    Question:  Why do I get locked out of my account?

    Answer:  The system will lock you out after entering the incorrect password several times. Please be aware, the system is case sensitive. When you initially open your account, it prompts you to change your password, select something that you will find easy to recall.

     

    Question:  How do I get my account unlocked?

    Answer:  Send an email to Helpdesk:  helpdesk@franklinboe.org 
    If you would like a new password sent to you, please indicate that in your email.  Also, if the last name on your account is different than the last name on your email address, please indicate that as well.

     

    Question:  In my Genesis account, I cannot see my child’s schedule or grades, and there is information missing.  Who do I address this with?

    Answer:  With issues such as these, please contact the Main Office at your child’s school.

     

    Question:  My child is in elementary school and I only see their name and grade. Is information missing?  Is there something wrong with my account?

    Answer:  No, it is not unusual for elementary students to have very limited information in their Genesis account.
