New Report Cards for the 2019-2020 School Year
We are happy to begin implementing a new standards-based elementary report card beginning in the 2019-2020 School Year. This new format is the product of evidence-based research and collaboration among teachers, content supervisors, principals and senior administration. Parent/Guardian input has also been a critical part of this process, and we believe this new report card will give parents/guardians valuable feedback that will enable more meaningful discussion between teachers and parents/guardians to provide greater support for our students.
On this page you can find the presentations we delivered to the Board of Education and at various Parent Report Card Nights in our elementary schools. They include Frequently Asked Questions that parents and teachers had when we began to rollout the new format.
On the pages that follow you can find screencasts explaning the new report card format, sample report cards for each grade level, as well as a rubric for each grade. The rubric explains the specific skill indicators that we expect our students to master at their grade level by the end of the year.
This year, each student's new elementary report card will be available through the Genesis Parent Portal. A link will be provided in Genesis to the rubric for that grade. The report cards and their accompanying rubrics will also be available in Spanish.
