Hello and Welcome to Student Assistance Coordinator Corner
For those of you new to the Franklin Community, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and acquaint you with the services and educational initiatives offered through The Student Assistance Program Grades K-8. As you may know, Student Assistance Counselors are a valuable resource for students and their families. Our Student Assistance Program offers a variety of education/prevention, counseling and referral services at each of our schools.
Supplemental to coordinating the prevention/education programs I am available to meet with students and their families who may be experiencing a variety of social, psychological and familial concerns. Working in conjunction with our district’s guidance department and community agencies we work to provide our students and their families the necessary resources to assist them in developing to their highest potential. I am also available as a resource to faculty and staff to assist with behavioral/social concerns they may be experiencing with students as well as providing in-service to faculty and staff on depression, HIB and substance abuse concerns.
Our district operates in accordance with New Jersey’s policies and regulations to ensure the safety of our students and has implemented comprehensive substance abuse prevention and intervention programs as well as a policies and programs to address the depressed and potentially suicidal student and HIB (For further information regarding these policies please refer to BOE policies).
