Free School Meals for the Remainder of the School Year

April 28, 2023:  The district has received some additional reimbursements and will be able to temporarily suspend school meal payments for the remainder of the school year.

Therefore, all students will be able to receive meals free of charge from May 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023. During this time, students will still have to pay for snacks.

We hope that this reprieve from meal payment will help families with money owed on their child's meal account to pay off any outstanding meal account balances before the end of the school year.  If not paid, these outstanding balances will roll over to the next school year. Families of FHS seniors must pay the outstanding balance before the student graduates.

Early in the new school year, you will receive more information about meals charges for the 2023-2024 school year. At that time, all families should fill out a new meal application to see if they qualify for free or reduced meals for the 23-24 school year.

Benefits for Summer 2023 - Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT):

Families can apply for free/reduced meals through June 28, 2023 in order to qualify for summer food benefits. Each qualifying student will receive $120 from the Department of Health and Human Services.  If any family has already applied and has qualified for free/reduced they don't have to do anything else.  If they do apply now and qualify for free/reduced, in addition to getting the P-EBT card for summer 2023, they will also qualify for free/reduced through the grace period of SY 23/24 (the first 30 operating days).  Additional information can be found here.
