New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy

Biliteracy is the ability to speak, read, and write in two or more languages at a proficient level. The Seal of Biliteracy honors graduating seniors who have attained multiple language proficiencies and signals this achievement to colleges and potential employers.

Many states are moving to recognize their students' proficiency in English and one or more world languages. The Seal of Biliteracy has now been legislated.

Twenty-Five (25) New Jersey school districts are participants in this student recognition program; which includes Franklin Township. Students who qualify for the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy will receive a certificate with a seal, as well as an annotation on their high school transcript.
