Before and After School Care Program

YMCA Before and After School Age Child Care

Franklin Township YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, provides high-quality Before and After School Age Child Care (SACC) for elementary students in Grades PreK-4 through 6th Grade during the 2026-2027 school year. The program offers families a convenient and reliable childcare option located right within participating schools, making drop-off and pick-up simple while supporting working families.

Led by caring, trained staff with experience in youth development and enrichment programming, Franklin Township Y provides children with a safe, welcoming environment where they can build friendships, participate in engaging activities, develop new skills, and enjoy experiences that support healthy living, learning, and social growth.

The program operates at each district elementary school from 7:00 AM until the start of the school day for morning care and from dismissal until 6:00 PM for afternoon care.

As an added benefit, all participants receive an included youth membership to Greater Somerset County YMCA. Youth membership provides access to five YMCA branches and member savings on programs including swim lessons, dance, gymnastics, sports and enrichment programs, and more, helping families extend learning, activity, and connection beyond the school day.

When school is not in session, families may also take advantage of YMCA Kids Day Out programming, which provides school age child care opportunities at Hillsborough YMCA or another designated Franklin Township location.

Financial assistance is available through Greater Somerset County YMCA to help ensure programs remain accessible to all families. Families interested in assistance should complete a financial assistance application, which can be found below. Families must register online through the YMCA website.
